Voice Performer - South African English

$70-130/hr remote freelance audio

What if your voice could directly shape how AI understands and communicates with millions of people around the world? We're looking for professional voice actors and voice-over artists with authentic South African English accents to participate in paid studio recording sessions for a leading AI speech research project.

This is a short-term contract role involving a small number of focused recording sessions. Your voice won't be cloned — you'll simply be helping AI systems learn to understand real, natural human speech.

Sessions: 2–3 sessions of approximately 4 hours each

Format: In-person professional recording studio (locally assigned in South Africa)

What you'll do:

• Record natural, conversational South African English speech in a professional studio environment
• Participate in single-speaker sessions and dual-speaker dialogue recordings
• Deliver realistic, human-sounding dialogue — think natural conversation, not scripted performance
• Take light direction on tone, pacing, and delivery to capture a range of speech styles
• Bring your authentic South African accent to every session

Who you are:

• A professional voice actor or voice-over artist with real recording experience
• Native or near-native South African English accent — authentic and natural
• Fluent in English with strong spoken communication skills
• Comfortable recording conversational and dialogue-based content
• Reliable, professional, and receptive to direction
• Currently based in South Africa

Nice to have:

• Acting or performance background
• Experience in broadcast, podcasting, or prior studio recording work
• Comfort with improvised or naturalistic speech styles
